2011

2010

CCBO Leadership Academy provides an excellent opportunity for training, meeting, and working with your peers. For those who aspire to lead in the community college environment, request your supervisor let you participate in this academy. The experience is exceptional, the project meaningful, and the graduation rewarding. I recommend this program to all whose goal is to become a community college business officer.
-Stanley Bolton, Director of Auxiliary Services, Midlands Technical College, Class of 2009

The Leadership Academy was extremely helpful in my transition from Corporate to Higher Education especially in the Public sector. The speakers provided great insight on what it takes to be a leader in this environment; however I particularly enjoyed networking with peers as we collaborated all year on the 2nd year small group project.
-Diane E. Snyder, CPA, M.S., Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration, ALAMO COLLEGES, Class of 2009

Mentoring
Along with expert instructional leadership, each student is assigned a yearlong mentor. The mentors, drawn from past and present CCBO leadership, offer experiences which serve to better prepare Academy students for future issues which they may face within the community college and also offer students a contact person with whom they can feel comfortable asking for and receiving advice.

Format
The format for the Academy requires that all students arrive two days prior to the CCBO Annual Conference. These two days are designed for students to have full immersion in the curriculum of the Academy. All students are expected to attend the CCBO Annual Conference following the Academy sessions. This same timeline will occur for the subsequent year.
